Ella Furniture – From A Small Workshop, Now Owns Furniture Factory

ELLA FURNITURE is a Malaysian native furniture brand founded in 2019, specializing in producing high-quality and beautiful furniture. The company’s owner, Nur Laila Alway, believes that her customers deserve only highquality furniture that suits their needs. Customer satisfaction is both Laila’s pride and joy, as well as the Ella Furniture team’s.
Before venturing into selling furniture, Laila initially sought to purchase a sofa for her own home. It was during this search that she met and got acquainted with a furniture maker. Recognizing the significant potential in the furniture business, Laila seized the opportunity to collaborate with the furniture maker to market the sofas produced.
Venturing into the sofa business was not easy for Laila, as she had to personally meet customers to see what materials were used. Moreover, there were times when Laila needed to provide consultation on the selection of sofa colors and patterns. In 2020, when the COVID-19 pandemic hit, the government announced a Movement Control Order across Malaysia.

Laila began to doubt whether she could sell her sofas because she felt that no one needed a sofa at that time. Laila also lacked the motivation to do marketing and post her products on social media. This resulted in Ella Furniture not making any sales in a week. Subsequently, Laila decided to expand her business knowledge with RichWorks.

Laila did not dwell on her disappointment for long. Instead, she took the opportunity to enhance her skills with RichWorks during the Movement Control Order (MCO), preparing for the post-MCO period. She began by enrolling in the Zero To Million and mentoring program, SPIRE.

In line with the aspirations of the SPIRE Program to help entrepreneurs achieve their first RM1,000,000, Ella Furniture successfully achieved sales of RM1,800,000 in 2020.

Seeing this consistency, Laila decided to further enhance her knowledge and guidance by joining the RichWorks Titanium Program. She was accepted as a Titanium member after being screened in December 2020.

Laila has become clearer about her business and what needs to be achieved and done after Come to think of it, many people buy products from China. Some even buy sofas from China. Why can people buy products from China but not local products?” – Nur Laila Alway 15 receiving close guidance from Datuk Wira Dr. Azizan Osman and RichWorks. Sofa sales have increased significantly, allowing her to achieve sales of RM2 million per month.

From a small workshop, Laila successfully owns her own furniture factory located in Sungai Buloh, Selangor, and furniture showrooms in Shah Alam and Johor Bahru.

Today, Laila is one of the Gladiators at RichWorks, with sales reaching RM21.2 million. Ella Furniture has also become a favorite furniture brand among VIPs and celebrities in Malaysia.
