Thirteen years ago, during one of the darkest and most difficult periods of my life, Allah SWT brought Habib Syech into my journey.
When my heart felt overwhelmed by one test after another, he reminded me that Rasulullah SAW endured trials far greater than mine.
He taught me to keep sending selawat upon Rasulullah SAW, especially when my heart felt heavy, wounded and lost.
Selawat became part of my healing.
Last night, I sat beside Habib Syech once again at Melaka Berselawat. As thousands of voices came together in selawat and qasidah, memories of that difficult season returned.
For a moment, I became silent…I realised that when Allah SWT sends us a test, He has often already prepared the remedy. Sometimes, that remedy comes through a teacher who gently guides our hearts back to Allah SWT and closer to Rasulullah SAW.
Thank you, Habib Syech. Perhaps you may never fully realise how deeply your guidance has shaped my life.

I have known Tun since long before he became the Yang di-Pertua Negeri of Melaka. One thing many people may not know about him is how genuinely close he has always remained to the community.
Sometimes, it almost seems as though he “forgets” that his position comes with protocols. He still makes an effort to accept invitations from ordinary people to attend their weddings, kenduri, tahlil, mawlid and community gatherings.
That is simply who he is: a leader with a genuine heart for the people.
Thank you, Tun, for continuing to show us that a true leader is not defined only by his position, but by how close he remains to the people he serves.
It was a deeply meaningful night commemorating Maulidur Rasul and Malaysia’s Independence Day through our shared love for Rasulullah SAW.
Selawat helped me through one of the most difficult periods of my life. Until today, whenever my heart feels heavy, selawat continues to bring me home.
