Facts: Not Many People Want to Know the Struggles Behind Success

People are often inspired by success stories.

They see the growing brand, stronger sales, better lifestyle, public recognition and the numbers behind the business. They see Bartech Beautee crossing RM25 million this year and moving towards RM35 million.

But not many people want to know what sits behind that success.

They do not see the pressure of cash flow, the fear of making the wrong decision, the costly mistakes, the difficult conversations, the team challenges and the sacrifices made at home. They do not see the moments when a founder has to keep showing up for everyone else, even when they themselves feel exhausted or uncertain.

I have had the privilege of witnessing and guiding Nurul Adlinna and Shaharuddin Abdul Karim, the founders of Bartech Beautee, through part of this journey.

Their story did not begin with comfort. They lost RM100,000. Shaharuddin left engineering behind. They had to start again, building a business from a problem they experienced at home.

And as their business grew, the challenges did not disappear. They changed.

Last year, they were working towards over RM25 million. This year, they have already surpassed RM25 million and are on track towards RM35 million.

Many people will look at the result and call it success. But I have seen the work behind it: the willingness to learn, the courage to make difficult decisions, the discipline to keep improving and the resilience to continue when the road was not easy.

That is the part of success that deserves to be understood.

A bigger business does not mean fewer problems. It means bigger responsibilities, bigger decisions and a greater need for the founder to grow.

Proud of what they have achieved so far. More importantly, proud of the people they have become along the way.
