NEVER STOP LEARNING. NEVER STOP GROWING.
Alhamdulillah, I landed back home around 8 this morning, safe and sound, even though I was stranded in Abu Dhabi and missed my flight by more than 12 hours after attending the Global MBA convocation at The University of Manchester last Friday.
I barely had time to rest. I was already on the road down south for the Inner Circle Meeting (ICM) Johor with more than 200 millionaire entrepreneurs under RichWorks Consulting Group (RCG) mentoring.
Honestly, my body is still tired. The time difference between the UK and Malaysia hasn’t fully worn off. But I told myself, there’s no time for jet lag.
Because my heart can’t wait. I know that in Johor, hundreds of faces are waiting for me — faces I know, people I’ve guided, people I love.
ICM is an intensive face-to-face session with them, founders from all kinds of industries, to get them ready with the key insights and the changes they need so they can bring real growth to themselves and to their businesses.
This session didn’t just happen. It comes after two weeks of 1-on-1 mentoring sessions I ran with them before I flew off to the UK.
Imagine this. Every day I sat with more than 14 founders from different industries, looking at where their businesses stand right now, helping them get clarity on strategy and direction, and deciding what they need to do next.
Fourteen conversations a day. Fourteen different challenges. Fourteen stories nobody sees before they sit in front of me. Sometimes with tired eyes. Sometimes with a shaky voice when they talk about the business they almost let go. Sometimes with tears of gratitude for the transformation they’ve gone through from the earlier 1-on-1 sessions.
I understand that feeling. Because two days ago, I stood in a convocation hall in the UK with my heart caught between gratitude and exhaustion.
But I’m aware of this: no matter how big our achievement is, the world out there doesn’t wait for us to fully recover before it keeps moving.
Many people think that after achieving something big — finishing your studies, hitting a sales target, opening a new branch — we deserve a long rest, or even to stop learning.
I won’t deny that rest matters. I’m only human and I need it too. But I believe a great founder isn’t one who stops growing after one success.
A great founder keeps moving, keeps learning, keeps growing. Even if they’ve just celebrated an achievement. Even if the body is still tired. Even if the heart wants to rest a little longer.
Because business doesn’t wait for us to recover from exhaustion. Customers don’t wait for us to finish resting. And opportunities don’t wait for us to be fully ready before they pass us by.
That’s why, even though I just got back, today I’m on the road to Johor to sit again with the entrepreneurs I mentor. Because I know that behind the success they show today, there are many hard nights, many sacrifices and many tears nobody sees… just like my own journey.
To me, this convocation isn’t the full stop at the end of my learning journey. It’s just another milestone in a journey that’s still long. After this, I’ll continue my learning journey because I believe that as long as Allah gives me the chance to learn, I’ll keep seeking knowledge.
Many people probably wonder, why still want to learn more?
My answer stays the same as what I always share with my students. I don’t learn because I feel I’m not enough. I learn because the world never stops changing. Business changes. Technology changes. The way people think changes. And if I want to keep mentoring entrepreneurs in a way that stays relevant, I have to keep growing too.
To all SME entrepreneurs reading this… keep learning. Keep growing. Don’t let one achievement become the full stop to your effort.
Make it just a punctuation mark… a comma, not a full stop.
Because the real journey usually only begins when we think we’ve arrived.
There’s no time for jet lag. There’s only time to keep moving… and keep growing.
Never stop learning. Never stop growing.
