Yesterday I was at KLIA to see off 40 jemaah who were flying out to perform umrah with Umrah Labbaik Travel.
My mother came along too. She needs a wheelchair, but she still wanted to be there to send them off.
“Big boss came down… no way the small boss won’t come down,” I teased her, joking.
Out of the 40 jemaah, eight are RichWorks Group staff who have served us for a long time and helped build the RichWorks journey together with us. The rest were their spouses and family members.
Alhamdulillah, this year we were given the chance to sponsor their umrah trip as a sign of appreciation for their loyalty, their sacrifice and everything they have contributed all this while.
Maybe the number is not as big as other organisations. But we started this initiative right from the early days of RichWorks. Many of our senior staff before this were given the same opportunity.
To us, appreciating your staff is not only about salary, bonus or promotion.
Sometimes we want to give something more meaningful. Something that doesn’t just change their lives, but touches the heart and the soul too.
They have given a part of their years, their time, their energy and their commitment to build RichWorks together with us.
Some have fought for years, been through the hard times and the good, and stayed loyal even when facing all kinds of challenges.
Sponsoring this umrah trip may look like a small gift. But to us, it means a lot.
This is one of the ways we say thank you for all their service and sacrifice. May this journey be a beautiful memory, an ibadah that is accepted, and the starting point to a life that is closer to Allah SWT.
May Allah make everything easy for them, grant them a mabrur umrah, accept every doa and ibadah, and bring them home with a calmer heart and a more blessed life.
