Assalamualaikum and a very good morning to all of you,

Datuk Wira here. Alhamdulillah, this morning I’m in Singapore, taking a bit of private time over the last few days to think and get ready for the 3-day “Grow Your Brand & Super Marketing” programme next week.

This morning I feel like sharing some insight on why so many business owners find it so hard to hit RM10 million in sales a year. As a mentor who helped more than 65 entrepreneurs reach this target last year, I’ve noticed a few main reasons that keep getting in the way. Let’s look at what they are.

1. Small Dreams and a Small Business Mindset
Many business owners are trapped in small-time thinking. They can’t see the potential for their business to grow to a higher level. They keep thinking “enough to eat” or “as long as it runs”. The truth is, your mind has to keep thinking big and be ready to act big. They have no new dream, and no bigger dream.

2. No Strategic Planning
When there’s no clear plan, how do you expect to hit a big target? Many people run a business with no clear roadmap – no long-term goals, no strong marketing strategy, and not enough budget. A solid plan is the foundation for reaching RM10 million in sales a year.

3. Weak Financial Management
Cash flow is the pulse of a business. If you can’t manage money well, the business turns messy. Lots of entrepreneurs use business profits for personal expenses, or don’t keep proper financial records. Remember, manage your business finances wisely, and make sure every ringgit is managed for growth.

4. Unable to Scale the Business
Many don’t know how to scale their business. They’re scared to take risks, scared to make big investments, or they have no system that can support growth. To hit RM10 million in sales, the business must be able to operate at a much bigger scale.

5. Not Enough Focus on the Customer
Many entrepreneurs are so focused on their product or service that they forget what the customer needs. Understand your customers, know their problems, and offer the solution they actually need. Customer satisfaction is the key to sustainable business growth.

6. Failing to Build a Strong Team
A business can’t grow if it depends on one person only. You need a team that’s committed and capable enough to share the business vision with you. Make sure you take the time to build and train a team that can carry the business to a higher level.

7. Not Enough Learning and Adapting
The business world never stops changing. What worked last year may not work this year. Successful entrepreneurs keep learning new things, follow the trends, and adapt to change. Don’t be afraid to learn and change the way you run your business so you stay relevant.

Conclusion
I hope this insight helps all of you who are working towards RM10 million in sales a year. Remember, success needs effort, strategy and the right mindset. Don’t give up, and keep fighting for your dreams!

Remember, success isn’t for the great, it’s for those who put in the work.
